STOKE CITY VS TOTTENHAM
The odds are stacked firmly against Stoke City in their fight against relegation, as a rampant Tottenham side travel to one of their favourite stadiums when it comes to big wins. Ahead of kickoff, Tottenham have won five Premier League (PL) games in a row, and are closing in on Manchester United in the race for second.
Despite having their goal-scoring wizard Harry Kane out with injury, Tottenham gained a fine victory away at Chelsea in the last round. This will be the side’s fourth away game in a row (all competitions), but they don’t seem to mind, with three wins and ten goals from that sequence.
Though Tottenham have won their last four last matches against Stoke in sublime fashion, scoring at least four goals each time, team manager Mauricio Pochettino has remained guarded ahead of this one, simply saying: “There’s still a long way to the end. I think we need to be focused and now we will try to prepare for the next game.”
Stoke, on the other hand, are without a win in eight games, and have slipped to 19th position. They have lost their last two home games against Tottenham 4-0 and may struggle again in this one.
The hosts also have the worst defense in the league (61 conceded), and have managed to keep a clean sheet in just five of 32 games. Alarmingly, they’ve also conceded three goals or more in eight matches so far.
Stat attack: Seven of Tottenham's nine away victories in this year's PL have been by a margin of 2 goals.
The last seven games between the sides have produced over 2.5 goals.
There hasn’t been a draw between these two at Stoke in the league since 1983/’84 (ten games).
I will back Totenham to win with over 2.5goals. GOODLUCK!
